Tears of a Tiger

What do you think about a particular character's actions? Was he/she right or wrong to do that?
I think that Andy did the wrong thing in taking his own life. He left kids in shock and many of his friends couldn't stand losing two friends in the same year. He left his parents and his little brother thinking why he did it. Sure he had no one to talk to because everyone was busy, but taking his own life was the cowards way out.\
Do you think you would read another book by this author? Why or why not?
I do want to read another book because so far I've read two books from her trilogy series. I want to read the final book because it can relate to a lot of kids these days. There is a lot of suspense and conflict usually between charters. What i liked about this book is that the character's conflict is between himself.

Weekly Reading Response

Tears of a Tiger
Sharon M. Draper page 45-90
Total pages this week 45
How is a character in your book similar to a character in another book, story, or movie?
The character I chose is Andy, I thought that he was similar to Ponyboy from the book The Outsiders. Ponyboy felt guilty because his best friend Johnny was in a fire. They were both trying to save children in a school house. And trying to save the kids was Ponyboy's idea. Ponyboy made it out find but Johnny was badly burned, Johnny died two months later. Andy felt guilty when Rob was killed in the car accident.
What was one of your favorite lines (or sentences) in what you read today?
Got up this morning
Feeling good and black
Thinking black thoughts
Did black things
Played all my black records
And I minded my own black business
Put on my black clothes
Walked out my black door
And Lord have mercy: white snow
I thought it was funny. I also thought that the person in the book that wrote it felt that he lived in a world there is white everywhere. That the country was ran by only white people. And that he couldn't change anything, but he could just live on being black.
