Chapters 13-15
Perspective Atticus
I decided that since the kids are growing up that Cal might need some help since I will be out of town lately. She also thinks that Scout needs a feminine influence, that she is being brought up wrong. When I show up in the driveway from Montgomery the kids came up seized my briefcase and hugged me. Scout asked me if I brought her a book and if I knew that Alexandra was there. I told her yes to both questions. I asked them if they would like Alexandra to stay with us for a while. Scout said yes but i had a feeling she was lying. I told them that i wouldn't be around to watch them for a while with the Tom Robinson case coming up. That it would be best for all of us. One day I heard Alexandra say that Ms. Crawford should mind her own business. I said that our generation was the first not to marry there cousin's. Would you say the Fiches have and Incestuous streak. Later that night I walked in Jem's room and sat down on Jem's bed. I told them that they are Finches and that they are not just run of the mill people, that we come from a long run of gentle breeding. I told them that they should start to act like the lady and gentleman they are. Scout started running across the edge of a comb. I told her to stop the noise and she started crying. Then she started hugging me and told me that my stomach was rumbling. I said I know and she said that i better take some soda, and I said I will. She then asked if all this was going to make things different. I told her not to worry, she asked if she had to remember all that stuff and I just told them to forget it. He leaves and then comes back and says he'll probably end up costing the family five hundred dollars. Scout one night asked me what rape was and I said that it was a carnal knowledge of a female by force without the woman's consent. She said something but I could not hear her and asked her to repeat herself. She told me how Jem and her went with Cal to her church and the Alexandra just stared at us. Then Scout asked if she could go to her house next Sunday. Alexandra immediately said no you can not. Scout said I didn't ask you, thats when I got up and told her to apologize, and told her that she had to listen to me, Cal, and Alexandra. I told Alexandra that I didn't see a problem her going to Cal's house. Later that night I caught Scout and Jem fighting, I split them up and sent them to there rooms. A few minutes after I broke them up Jem called me up to the hall and to my surprise Dill was standing in the middle of the room. I told them that i had to call his aunt Miss Rachel. I told to take a bath after he ate. Then they all went off to bed. One day a couple of the men from town and started talking to me about Tom Robinson, it looked they were fixing to hurt me, but then we came outside and left. That night I left to the county jail to make sure no one would try to hurt Tom. When I was there a couple of cars pulled over and raggedy men came out of them. One of them was Mr. Cunningham. Then when they started to move forward I saw Scout come over and I was furious. Then Jem and Dill followed, they were all out of the house at this hour. When I told them to go home one of the men said I'll take him home and grabbed him by the collar. Then Scout yelled don't touch him and kicked him in the worst place possible.I told him that that was enough and that they all needed to go home. Then Scout told Mr. Cunningham that she went to school with his son. The she said to say hi for them. He squatted down and said I'll be sure to tell him. Then said lets clear out boys. Then we left and I massaged Jem's head to signal that it was okay.

Chapters 10-12
Perspective Scout
Sometimes i feel that Atticus is the only dad in Maycomb that does nothing. They had a football game at the church. After Jem and I see a dog, it was Tim Johnson, and he looked like a mad dog. He told Cal and she called Atticus and started knocking on doors and yelling. Atticus came withe Heck Tate the county sheriff, he gave and Atticus a rifle, and told him to shoot the dog. He hesitated with Jem and I watching. Cal put us inside and blocked our view, but we saw the shot. It was amazing he got the dog at a fair distance. We stayed with Miss Maudie a while after that. She told us as a young man Atticus was the best shot in the county, and that he didn't want us to know. One day while Jem and I were walking by the street an old lady started yelling at us from across the street, she was Ms. Dubose. When Jem tells Atticus, he warns Jem to be a nice to her, because she is old and sick, but one day she tells the children that Atticus isn't any better than the the nigger-trash he works for, and Jem goes nuts. After we came back from the toy store Jem grabbed my baton that he just bought me, and starts whipping out her camellia bushes as if it were a machete. When Atticus returns home from work he was holding some of the camellia bush, as punishment he had to go to her house and read to her every day for a month. I went with him and every day we went it seemed a little longer then the day before. Mrs. Dubose dies a couple of days after there sessions end. Atticus revels that she was addicted to a medication pill and reading helped her try to overcome it. Atticus gives Jem a box that Mrs. Dubose had given her maid for Jem; in it lies a single white camellia. Atticus said that this meant that every thing was okay. Jem has now reached age 12 and starts to tell me to act like a girl. The only thing i start to look forward to is Dill's arrival, but sadly he sends a letter saying he has a new father and he will not be coming. If that wasn't disappointing enough Atticus has to go on some trip for two weeks. Calpurnia decides to take the us to her church, a black church, that Sunday. Maycomb’s black church is an old building, called First Purchase because it was bought with the first earnings of the first freed slaves. When we arrive a woman starts cursing out Cal and she starts to. Everyone except her seemed really nice, and Reverend Sykes welcomes us, saying that everyone knows our father. They sang by echoing the words that Zeebo, Calpurnia’s eldest son and the town garbage collector, reads from their only hymnal. Reverend Sykes also collects money for Tom Robinson's wife, who cannot find work because her husband is being accused of rape. Reverend Sykes announces that they didn't have enough money, a signals someone to lock the door. He says that everyone has to give another dime, and they do reach the goal. After that I asked Cal what rape was and she told me to ask Atticus. When we got home we saw Aunt Alexandra and now I have a thought that the day isn't going to end well.

Chapters 8-9
Perspective of Jem
It has been the coldest winter ever here since 1885. That’s not the worst, Mrs. Radley died that winter, I didn’t affect the town that much. Scout and I expected that Boo finely finished her off. To our disappointment, when Atticus returned from the Radley’s place he said she died of natural causes. I told Scout to ask Atticus if he saw Arthur Radley. He said no, and I told Scout not to ask any another questions. I woke up to Scout screaming, he was frightened by the snow was a outside. Atticus came running in the room have shaving; he explained it was just snow. It hasn’t snowed since 1885; Scout and I wanted to build a snowman. When we went outside the snow wasn’t enough, so we went to get some with buckets from Miss Maudie’s backyard. First we made a snowman of dirt and Scout called it a nigger snowman. Then we covered it with all the snow we had. After that we got a pair hedge clippers and Miss Maudie’s sunhat and the snowman was complete. That night Calpurnia light all the fireplaces but it was still cold. Minutes after we fell asleep we were woken up by Atticus. The time was approximately one in the morning. There was a fire burning Miss Maudie’s house. The fire truck comes but had to be pushed by people. Scout and I were standing out by the Radley's place. For some reason Scout was covered by a blanket, I suspected Mr. Radley. That Christmas, uncle Jack came to visit us. When we woke up we got our presents, they were air soft rifles. Atticus said that if we misused them we would never see them again. Christmas day we went with aunt Alexandra to eat dinner. Francis is aunt Alexandra's son. Francis and I sat at the grown up table while Scout sat at the children's table. After dinner Scout went outside and Francis followed, then around ten minutes later we saw aunt Alexandra run outside. Scout had apparently punched Francis in the face. Scout got a licking and we went home. I woke up and saw a Scout Listening to Uncle Jack and Atticus talking. I know that something Francis said or did really provoked her.
